This comes out later than intended, but here it is either way. Kris, generous soul, recently posted her best of 2005 entry, which actually featured links to other people’s blogs (otherwise know as OPB. Ask Kris, are you down with OPB, and she’ll respond, yeah, you know me.) Now I’m too lazy and self-absorbed to pull something like that off, so here’s what I’ve got instead.
The best of me
For better or worse, happy or sad, these are the entries I’ve written in the past year that I like the most:
What’s it all about, Davie?
Roont
Here’s a Little Song for Everybody out There
Wherein I’m a Drunken Lout
For the love of God, kids, don’t do drugs! And especially don’t shout at the devil!
Behold my skull!
You look like that guy
Wednesday Movie: Rebel Without a Cause
Wednesday Movie: All About Eve
Highlights from out trip to Michigan, Part 1 & 2
Yes, Virginia, a Bear Does Shit in the Woods
I grow Old... I grow old
A complex phrase, in which the various parts are enchained
Our trip to Las Vegas
The best of you
I’ll admit it—discuss amongst yourselves was a bit of a dodge when it came out. I was leaving the work up to you. But goddamn, you people write some funny shit, and it swiftly became my favourite feature. You all make me look so much smarter by association.
In my opinion, here’s some of your best work:
The Greatest Canadian
Crush template
Jukebox Song for a Bar Brawl
Things you failed to purchase
Your new band
Staying awake

Welcome to me, ruining your best of article.
Sorry.
Happy 2006.
Surfing around the blog universe and finding intelligent life involves calling upon the computing power of the freakin' SETI project.
For every good blog out there, I'll find a hundred that write about their hangnails and sour milk.
Not that writing about that stuff is bad, of course. However, the name of the game is to make it interesting.
Sure, sure, there is the whole why bother reading it in the first place? argument. But seriously, you can't automatically know that you don't like it until you try it.
So kudos to your blog. The one that got mine going. You attract a lot of amazing people to your site, bro.
That's because everyone wants to be around someone that they admire....
...or pity.
(Can't let it all go to your head, now, can I? ;) )
Your friend.

Thanks for being a good friend.. and a great pimp.
And Dave, yes...
I am a sneaky bastard.
FIGLEDO ===> For why you make comment then make nother comment right after? You crazyman.
KRIS ===> Your comment echoes a bit done by Henry Rollins on one of his spoken word albums. If you haven't heard them yet, you should. Highly entertaining guy, and a lot more bright than one may first think. I'd invite Dave to see him next time Rollins is in town - in order to see that being 30+ doesn't mean you lie down and take things as they come, in fact Rollins would likely punch him for such a sentiment - but seeing Dave's still content to live 5 hours away, it remains problematic.
DAVE AGAIN ===> You should listen to the Henry Rollins spoken word albums, too. Dude's in his 40s and remains one of the most driven people I've ever heard. Could be inspiring for you. And even if not, a lot of it's amusing stuff anyway.
I'd recommend Think Tank, A Rollins In The Wry, and Live at the Westbeth Theatre. I have those three (and more) and you're welcome to borrow them. But then there's that 5 hour travel time...
