One bourbon, one scotch, twenty-eight beer

BlogHurl. Whew.

I’m okay now. The last vestiges of hangover, body fatigue, and gastrointestinal distress have faded away. But because I’m just that rock and roll, I’m having a drink right now as I write this.

I won’t recount what exactly went down at BlogHurl 06. Because the details are fuzzy? Because our lawyers said it's best not to talk about it until after the trail? Because I’m a lazy arse? All of these things are true. Instead, I offer a few pictures and a few personal messages.

Kris - You are all kinds of awesome. Exactly what I expected; exactly what I hoped. We’re going to come visit you, and then we might never leave. I'll sleep in your tub, Sarah can fit under the sink. Who makes a better pillow: Bug or Cricket?

Mike – Good to see you again. Thanks for being the only one with enough wherewithal to actual put something up at Wasted Time last night. Nobody barfed, but you ensured that our event was at least partly faithful to its name.

Kelly – We talked for a very long time and I don’t think I said a single, coherent sentence. I’m sorry. I was fucking schmammered, and not really working with my A material about then. Despite that, it was still great to meet you.

Jorge – Thanks for hosting this, dude. And thanks for not following along when I was like, “People would find it hilarious if we started to make our right now…”

Isha – Your Wasted Time registration is in the mail. It’ll be the letter than smells like throw-up.

Nat, Brad, Phung, Phung’s Friend Who’s Name I Don’t Know – Sorry I did get down to that end of the table. I think I was too busy being incontinent.

And now the photos:

Kris, looking just slightly uncomfortable at our restraining her physically.

A picture taken seconds before we all tossed back a WhyNatte. Why is there no After photo? Because absolute fucking chaos had descended.

Don't worry Jorge, I managed to get that picture ...

HAHAHAHAHA! Man, I wish I lived fewer than 17 hours away. I would have loved bloghurling with you!

As it is, I guess I'll have to console myself with pictures of you and Jorge making out.

MIKE==> I WANT THAT PICTURE.

I notice that there are no Jager Bombs on that list. Sorry, but it's just not a party without the Jager Bombs. I hope the fundraising effort to pay for my flight to the next Bloghurl is going well...

It wasn't a party.

It was an advanced social function.

WhyNatte's are just as good as Jager Bombs, from what Jesse tells me.

Kris = shuddering at thoughts of Jager . . .

Thanks for the kind words, D Love. I feel exactly the same - you are rock stars I feel I have known for a lifetime and I can't believe it took us this long to get our sorry asses to meet up face to face. I'm hoping the next visit won't take nearly as long.

Next time I won't force you to accompany me to the outdoor smoking lounge . . .

Much love,
K

And BTW, Hey, I love your blog! Kudos on an awesome post! ;)

Dave, I though I was the schmammered one - that's why we spoke for so long!

It was great to meet both you and Sarah (and everyone else, too, of course). Hopefully we can do the twenty-eight beer another time. Possibly when it's warm?

Hey, thanks to everyone that indulged on the Whynattes! Much appreciated. I hope you enjoyed them. If I lived even remotely close to Toronto, I would have met you all for drinks. However, seeing as though I live in Atlanta, there was no BlogHurl to be had for me.

When you have a minute (and I don't really know who I'm addressing this to) could you please send any and all Whynatte photos to my email? I would like to post them at Whynatte.com. My email address is Jesse@whynatte.com. When you send the photos, please give me people's names as well. I'll be sure to post a link to your site when I write up the pics.

Thanks again.

Jesse

Check out whynatte.com...I got some of the photos up of you all doing Whynattes. It's probably the most recent post that I made. Maybe you can add a comment, and tell me who the various people are. If you know.

Also, look out for Whynatte in this weeks Rolling Stone magazine. There is going to be a 100 word article on the website and the drink.

thanks,
Jesse

I should add...

... that two people were instrumental in my joining Twitter. First, Isha . She sent out an article on it when the application was still brand new. (And I remember thinking, "Screw that noise. Like I need more online commitments.) Second was Rebecca . She joined up just a short while ago, claiming she hadn't met a bandwidth she didn't like . (And then she disappeared entirely from the internets .) It looked nice and pretty over there on her sidebar, and then I got a little jealous. The rest: history. And for those unobservant among you ( Jorge ), the Twitter feed is right there on my sidebar, replacing the old Radio 3 player that I loved, but that I think scared the bejezus out of a lot of people. Also, everyone should join Twitter. I'm needing some diversions , people.
Change Two: Drink More Water Such a simple thing, yet something I just can't seem to find the time to do. About the only water I drink in your average day is whatever sweat happens to trickle off my mustache. Hydration (so the smart people tell me) is a good thing. I'm less fatigued when I drink water. I'm less hungry when I drink water. I'm even less grumpy when I drink water. I promise you nothing especially impressive. Eight glass a day ain't gonna happen. I'm shooting for two on average; two trendy, metallic, not gonna bleed Bisphenol A into my system bottles of water. I know were off to a rip-roaring start, what with the list-making and the hydration, but I'll try to get crazier with future changes. Stuff like: go to work drunk more, and buy a pair of leather pants. For now, let me ease into it.
